The Westwood neighborhood, along with the adjacent Barnum neighborhood, was acquired and developed by P.T. Barnum of “The Barnum & Bailey Circus” in 1882. Years later, another development company subdivided the neighborhood further south creating the Westwood neighborhood, bounded by West Alameda Avenue on the north, West Mississippi Avenue on the south, Federal Boulevard on the east and Sheridan Boulevard on the west. The area has developed into a single-family community with a diverse business environment along Morrison Road, West Alameda Avenue and Federal Boulevard. The neighborhood is served by numerous bus routes and is minutes from downtown Denver, Invesco Field, the Pepsi Arena and other exciting venues.
